Before 1959, the Competidora brand was among Cuba’s leading brands of cigarettes, made by people who had spent their working lives learning tobacco and living the tobacco industry.

They arrived in South Florida with their knowledge, expertise, values, and the Competidora Brand. In 1962, working alongside other brand manufacturers who had made the same journey, our family founded Dosal Tobacco Corporation and brought Competidora back into production. Building the company was a family effort – a legacy of dedication and craftsmanship that has continued across generations and still guides Dosal today.

Dosal remains family-owned and independent. We are still headquartered in Miami. We still manufacture every product we sell in our own facility, and we still employ hundreds of Florida families to do it, bringing these incredible products to the American people.
We are not the biggest company in this industry. We have never wanted to be. What we are is a passionate group of tobacco enthusiasts who are proudly building a legacy rooted in uncompromising quality and value.

Dosal does not contract out production. Every cigarette and every filtered cigar carrying our name is manufactured in our Miami facility, with relentless quality standards and processes — by our own people.
